Fashion wish list for fall

I don't claim to be any kind of fashion expert, but I do keep my eye on what's going on with trends and pick out certain things I want to add into my wardrobe each season. Since the advent of Pinterest, I keep an ongoing "list" of those things I covet for inspiration.

Since it's officially October now, I have to come to terms with the fact that it is actually fall. Here are some things that are on my wish list for fall and (gasp) winter that might give you some inspiration as well.

Full midi skirts. Love this style cus it hides problem areas but is still super fun and stylish at the same time. Pair with a simple T or tank and a great statement necklace. I like this option from Express in red and this pleated one from Banana Republic in black.

Trouser jeans. Love love love that these have made a comeback! I love a long, lean pair of flare or boot cut trouser jeans with super high heels. They make me look tall! White House Black Market has a great pair, as does Nordstrom.

Bright colored or textured clutches. I am coveting a big emerald green clutch this season like this one from Gigi New York or this cool snakeskin option from Express.

Big sweaters. A big cozy sweater with skinny jeans or jeggings and ankle booties could be my uniform this winter. I like this one from Nordstrom and this one from Old Navy. Would love to find a really wearable (read: not smothering) Fair Isle print too. (I did find an adorable one for your dog.)

Speaking of which, Skinny jeans.  I won't be sad when skinny jeans go away entirely but for now, they are still the best option to pair with high or ankle boots and long tunics and sweaters. I don't like to spend a lot on these bad boys, so I've discovered the Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans from Old Navy. They just came out with mid and high-rise varieties which help ward off muffin top. There's also a bad ass black zip-pocket option too.

Ponchos/capes. I wanna put one of these on in December and leave it on until spring. Take a look at this poncho from Dillard's and this sweater capelet from Zappos, both (coincidentally) by Ralph Lauren.

Orange!  You may call it "pumpkin" or "tangerine" instead but either way this is a great color for fall, especially paired with navy or gray or with just regular ole jeans. Here's a great tunic sweater with side zips from Express and a cashmere cardigan from J.Crew:

Over the knee boots. These are hot. And funner than your standard knee high boot. Here's a riding boot option I like from Zappos and a wedge heel from TJ Maxx.

There you have it folks. Have any pieces you are coveting for fall? Shoot me a comment and fill me in!
