I hate running.
Well, I lied again.
I said I was going to get back on the horse (i.e. treadmill) last week, then start week 4 fresh this week. As we all know, last weekend was the 4th of July holiday. I should have known I wouldn't be able to get my shit together. And I didn't.
So I decided to chillax and just do the week 3 runs over to get back to where I was before I left on vacation. I don't have much to report about it except to say it wasn't as hard starting up again as I thought it would be. I actually felt pretty good! The only issue: my knees hurt a little bit for the first time. Eek. Guess I can't get away scot-free.
To stretch or not to stretch
I also gave some thought to the amount I stretch before running - which is not much if I'm being honest (I do a "warm up" walk). So I did some research online and found out there's a lot of debate about what - if any - is the right amount and style of stretching that should be done before and after runs. Click here for a good article from Runner's World about the topic. For now, I'm going to stick with what I'm doing since I'm injury-free so far. Do you have an opinion about the stretching debate? If so, leave a comment!
Until next week...
