That's What She Said 9.19.19
A collection of my favorite things to watch, listen to, buy or read from the past week.
Lesser Evil Snacks
Lesser Evil is a health-conscious snack company that controls every ingredient, recipe and process of the snacks they made (they are non-GMO verified and SQF Level 2 certified). Located in Danbury, CT, Lesser Evil has been producing snacks in their own factory for the past 7 years. Their packaging may have changed over the years (you’ll recognize their popcorn guru, Homer from their bags). Their portfolio of popcorns and paleo puffs will satisfy all your naughty food cravings. Buy or find stores here.
Peepers Reading Glasses
FACT: when you get old (e.g. over 40) your eyes go to shit. It’s inevitable. Thankfully there are a lot more options out there now for reading glasses for us fashion-forward ladies. You no longer have to buy granny glasses at CVS that look like something you wouldn’t get caught dead in. Companies like Peepers, CADDIS, Felix Gray, Foster Grant, eyebobs and Fetch have flooded the market, but Peepers continues to have the most stylish and affordable options - AND they were endorsed by Oprah (twice)!
Eyesight is important. Don’t let your fear of wearing readers keep you from reading important things like menus, or maps, or the latest US Weekly. Click here to buy now.
Released September 13, Unbelievable is a limited series from Netflix based on two female detectives (Toni Collette and Merritt Weaver) investigating a series of brutal rapes with similarities across the Southwest and Pacific Northwest. One of the stories involves a young girl (played by Kaitlin Dever of Booksmart) who reports her rape and is accused of lying. Hard content to stomach, but Merritt Weaver and Toni Collette make it impossible not to watch. Learn more here.
Below Deck Med, Season 4 (Bravo)
OK now that you’re sufficiently traumatized, let me remind you there is mindless fun known as Below Deck Med on Bravo to take your mind off the craziness going on around us! Season four “stars” Captain Sandy Yawn, Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier, Bosun Joao Franco and fan favorite Colin Macy-O’Toole to navigate us through the charter season in the South of France. One of my favorite seasons of the Below Deck franchise to date! Catch up now before the season ends. Learn more here.
Hair Dryer Radar Lady
This lady gets my vote for baller of the week! The Montana Highway Patrol awarded this grandmother with the unofficial title of "honorary state trooper" after she attempted to slow down speeders in her neighborhood using a hair dryer — and a solo cup of what I like to imagine is a Tom Collins. Watch the story here or below.
