The BOSSY List: 5 things you need to know now 10.21.17
1. UPS Dogs Facebook Page
UPS Dogs is an online community for UPS drivers to share photos and videos of all the furry friends they meet on their routes. Started by driver Sean McCarren about five years ago, the page didn't take off until recently. As Sean himself said to HuffPost: “The appeal is that it’s all positive, not negative...this page also shows the relationship we have with the community and the impact we have on other people’s families. It also shows how awesome the drivers are.” So simple yet so impactful. We all need more doggies in our lives. Visit the UPS Dogs FB page here.
2. Lyft gets a lift from Google
Need more reasons to dump Uber for Lyft? On Thursday, the investment arm for Google's parent company made a $1 billion investment in Lyft, raising Lyft’s valuation from $7.5 billion to $11 billion. What does this mean? Well, first of all it's another ding against Uber. Second it means that Google and Uber, at one point rather chummy, are now at odds and Google has turned their focus to Lyft. Google (and it's driverless car co Waymo) is signing a deal to work on self-driving car technology with Lyft.
Karma's a bitch Uber. Read more here.
3. The Real Housewives of Dallas (Bravo)
Anyone who knows me knows the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo is one my most coveted guilty pleasures. And the Real Housewives of Dallas has quickly moved up the list to be one of my favorite cities. These ladies are wacky and I constantly find myself ROFLing IRL. LeeAnne Locken - the former carny turned Dallas socialite - is the creepiest, most unintentionally funny Housewive in the franchise and I can't wait to see what she is going to say and do next...with her bare hands!
Stop what you're doing and catch up on RHOD immediately. Catch up on BravoTV.com.
4. Weezer's new single "Happy Hour"
I love, love, love this song. Weezer's new album Pacific Daydream comes out next Friday, October 27.
5. Trader Joe's Crunchy Salted Peanut Butter with Flax & Chia Seeds
Last but not least: FOOD. This may seem like a random pick for this list, but hear me out. If you love peanut butter and you have been looking for a healthy alternative to the brand names at your regular supermarket, check this out. It's "natural," "minimally processed," crunchy peanut butter with FLAX and CHIA SEEDS added! Between the nuts and the seeds, one serving has 320mg of ALA (Alpha-lineolenic acid) Omega-3 fatty acids and 12% of your daily fiber (and only 1 gram of added sugar). It also received an "A-" from the Fooducate food rating app (that's good). Oh yeah, and it's delicious. Go get it now.
