Bossy's Favorite Things Vol IV: Holidays

It's that time again!

The season to reflect on our blessings and celebrate the birth of Christ.

Just kidding. It's the season of gift giving and gift getting!

Here are some of my most recent favorite things that I think you need to know about. Think of me as a lower budget, lower class Oprah or Gwyneth Paltrow. Here we go:

Adele's new album "25". This should be the #1 thing on your wish/gift list this year. Another home run by Adele. And it's not all dreary, I promise. Buy CD here (do people still buy CDs?) or download the MP3 version via Amazon Prime or iTunes (it is NOT available for streaming on Spotify or Apple Music).

Busted Tees. Sometimes you need to express yourself visually. I particularly like the Poehler/Fey 2016 tee but there are plenty for any taste. Check out their selection here.

Vizio Wireless Surround Sound Bar System with Bluetooth: Looking for a big ticket item? I got this for Xmas last year and it freakin' rocks. The sound bar is not only wireless, but it also is Bluetooth capable so you can play your favorite music right from your phone. Buy one for your sweetie here.

(Duck) Boots with the Fur. There's nothing cuter for winter. You could spend real bucks on versions from L.L. Bean, Jambu or Sorel (I have a pair of Jambus I found on sale), but if you are looking for a great deal, check out boots from Khombu, London Fog and Arctic Plunge at TJ Maxx here. (Note: if asking for these for Xmas, go for the real deal here.)

Lampe Berger Fragrance Lamps. This one came into my life compliments of my friend Beth who sells fabulous gift items (aka "crap"). Just kidding BT, this is far from crap - this thing is from France! Lampe Berger makes these lamps that are essentially a diffuser with a wick so you light it, then blow it out and let the scent permeate your house and clear up any foul odors. And it's pretty too. Genius. Buy here or here.

The Original Disposable Flask. I can't think of anyone who can't use one of these. If you say you can't, you're lying. There's always an occasion for sneaking in booze down your pants -- especially when "The Man" is trying to charge you $15 a drink! The Original Disposable Flask comes in a variety of colors/prints. I like this one. Browse them all here.

Coach "Shadow" Crossbody Saddlebag. The Saddle Bag is BACK. I want one of these in every color. Are you listening Santa? Buy here.

Digital Luggage Scale from L.L. Bean: Based on the behavior of Mother Nature so far this season, chances are you're going to need to get the hell out of dodge for some relief. This is a critical item if you a) travel a lot and b) are a chronic over-packer. It's super accurate. This thing can save you $90 and the humiliation of having to open your suitcase of skivvies (and whatever else you're into) in front of a terminal full of people. Buy here.

Gunshow Merch. For those not "in the know," Gunshow is a restaurant concept owned and operated by hometown boy Kevin Gillespie (of Top Chef fame) and is one of the most coveted reservations in Atlanta. Now you can have a bit of Gunshow for your own kitchen/wardrobe. Red Beard Restaurants is hawking things like pig cutting boards, Gunshow branded aprons and hoodies, and Gunshow's signature "Gunpowder Finishing Salt." Find all this great merch, including Kevin Gillespie's cookbooks, here.

Yeti Rambler Colster Drink Cooler. I'm in love. Who's getting me this? Buy it here.

Hollywood Fashion Tape. For those of us ladies (and I suppose men too) with big bazoongas, this stuff is a must-have. Never bust out of your button down again! Hollywood Fashion Tape is double sided tape that helps keep your party top in the right position so your girls don't hang out in the breeze. Buy here or here.

LifeLine Animal Project in Atlanta. Last but certainly not least, check out LifeLine Animal Project. This organization manages the Fulton and Dekalb County Animal Shelters (essentially all of Metro Atlanta) and plans to transition both into "no-kill" shelters by 2016. Even if you don't live in Atlanta, this is a great concept and should be implemented everywhere. Learn more here, make a donation here or adopt a pet here

Happy Holidays to you and yours!
