Where's the best pizza in Atlanta?

As you may have gathered, some friends and I are on an important quest to find the best pizza in Atlanta.  We dubbed it: "Atlanta Pizza Quest 2014" (naturally).

We are pretty lucky here in Atlanta to have a lot of great pizza to choose from, so naming one victor is no easy feat.  But we decided we were up to the challenge, and I have to say, we are enjoying the opportunity to scarf down lots of delicious pies across the city!

We've visited five pizza restaurants to date and scored and reviewed each of them via blog post.  We have about 4-5 more to go.

The Rules

We rate each restaurant in the food categories of sauce, cheese, crust and toppings, as well as for dining experience and overall impression, for a total of 60 points.  We score each restaurant on all 6 of these categories but also on food only (the first 4 categories for a total of 40 points).  We decided to calculate both ways because even though dining experience plays a big role in how we like a restaurant, we want to have a clear idea of what our favorite pizza is regardless of atmosphere, service etc.

As it stands at the halfway point, Fritti is in the lead for best overall (includes ratings for food, dining experience and overall score); Fritti and Ammazza are tied for first when just scoring the pizza.

We look forward to continuing our Quest through the rest of the year and eventually crowning a winner!

More reviews coming soon!
